Challenges 2025
THREE FABRIC CHALLENGE Rules:
● The item must be a quilt.
● The quilt must be at least 36"x36".
● Entries must be made with the three fabrics in the bag. No other fabric can be used in the quilt top. Backing and binding are your choice. You may use any techniques or embellishments. The more creative the better.
UFO Challenge
1. Make a list of UFO’s you would like to see finished in 2025.
2. Finish any project that you have had lying around. Must be an older one, not something that you’re currently working on. From finishing blocks to finishing binding, whatever is holding you up from getting that project done!
3. When finished, must be shown during Show N Tell.
4. Pay $1.00 to the UFO pot for each UFO finished and you will get a ticket entering you into the drawing.
5. Drawing to be held at the December 2025 meeting. - Winner takes all the $$$.
The UFO Challenge Guidelines
*Must have been started before 2025.
*Can be a quilt that is any size to include a table runner, a wall hanging, a lap quilt, and a bed quilt. *Must have three layers: top, batting, backing.
*Can be a tote bag, purse (does not have to be quilted or have batting) or an article of clothing (does have to be quilted).
*Must be at least partially made by the owner:
1. Owner made the top (but had it quilted by another)
2. Owner did not make the top {possibly purchased by or gifted} (but the owner quilted it)
*Owner must do the binding. (this is an opportunity to learn!)
*Putting just a label on the item does NOT make it a UFO.
*The item must be shown (completed) during Show N Tell.
*After showing the item, owner will pay $1.00 to the UFO fund. A ticket for each UFO completed will be given to the owner who will write their name and phone number on the ticket and place the ticket in the ticket container.
*Guild members are NOT LIMITED to one UFO a month.
*At the December meeting, one name will be drawn and the money will be awarded to that person.
(Due to the excellent questions of the guild members, The 2nd Vice President reserves the right to modify the UFO challenge guidelines only by the end of February)
