The Tarheel Quilters Guild of Fayetteville, North Carolina was started in 1981 and has grown steadily, with over 100 members. The Guild is a nonprofit organization whose primary objective is to promote and perpetuate the art of quilting. Our work is designed to benefit and educate all persons interested in preserving and advancing this art.
Membership is open to anyone 10 years of age or older and it not restricted to quilters only. Anyone interested in the art of quilting or who appreciates quilts and quilting may join. Visitors and guests are always welcome at the guild meetings. They are asked to sign in at the membership table before the meeting.
Our guild has been recognized with the Mountaire Better Carolina Award for April 2014 for our service to the community.
Dates of upcoming meetings

Guild members may choose to participate in any, all, or none of the guild's special activities:
- Block of the Month
- Each member who makes a block and turns it in that month has a chance to win the blocks.
- Secret Quilters
- If you choose to participate, you bring a small gift for your secret quilter each month. At the end of the year, your secret quilter is revealed.
- Fabric Exchanges
- You can bring a fat quarter with the assigned color or theme with your name attached. A fat quarter is drawn and that person gets all the fabric :)
- Sew Days
- Anyone can participate at Sew Days. You can bring your own project, participate in group projects (if planned) or show up with your questions. It's a great time for fellowship with people who have the same interests.
- VA and Baby Quilt donations
- One of our service projects is to provide veterans at the VA nursing home a lap quilt around Valentine's Day each year.
- Our other project is to bring crib quilts to the Neonatal Unit at Cape Fear Valley Hospital each month.
- On 2/13/20, guild members delivered more than 85 quilts to the veteran heros at the Fayetteville VA Hospital
